As we head into Week 3 of the graduate academic term, things are certainly getting busy!
Between classes, group meetings, networking events, course work, jobs and workshops, it can be challenging to find time for the restoration you need to tackle your next week.

Here’s one great way to meet this challenge: Mindfulness Meditation Fall Programs here at York!

1. Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavior Therapy (MBCBT)  – V2

Time:  Tuesdays beginning September 27 from 5:30 – 7:00 pm (10 week group)
Cost: $225.00 for 10 weeks| $75.00 for students with your ID

With the mindfulness ‘movement’ come visions and actions devoted to world peace and a more compassionate society. In this  8 week group you will adopt an interpersonal focus, emphasizing peaceful, compassionate relationships with self and significant others.

The mindfulness techniques emphasized are shamatha and tonglen, practices devoted to peace-making
and healing exchanges where all people derive benefits.

These approaches are integrated with an interpersonal approach to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy,
changing the distorted thoughts and emotions that regularly occur and result in unnecessary internal and interpersonal conflict.

This combination is further integrated with recent cognitive and neurophysiological research on mindfulness and CBT, where indices of brain health are used as scientific validations of subjective processes and their benefits.
