Hello inaugural MMgt students!

The start of term is just around the corner, which means that you must complete your pre-program requirements!

Here are a few final reminders to make sure you’re on track to start your formal program in September.

When do I need to complete my AnyPrep modules?

By now, you’ve received details to log in and enrol in AnyPrep‘s Accounting Foundations and Mathematics Foundations. These are mandatory online modules for every MMgt student, and theymust be completed by midnight on August 21, 2016.

How do I pass my AnyPrep modules?

You must write the online exams for each module. Each exam will have 20 randomly chosen questions, similar in style to those in the quizzes you took during the courses. You will have only 30 uninterrupted minutes to complete each exam (you cannot return to complete the exam on another session!). You need to score at least 70% on each AnyPrep exam.

Remember to use your full first and last name on each exam attempt!

What happens if I don’t pass my AnyPrep exams?

If you score less than 70% in an exam, you will be given one additional attempt. This is why it’s important to take your first attempt early enough to leave time for a re-take. Be sure to review all of the material again and take your time on your second attempt. You must pass with a 70% minimum score on both modules to enter the MMgt program next month.

How does Schulich know that I’ve completed my AnyPrep courses?

AnyPrep will send the results to Student & Enrolment Services after August 21. If there is a problem with your results or a failure to complete the modules, you will be contacted.

How is Flying Start different from AnyPrep?

Flying Start is the other mandatory prep course series for starting the MMgt program, and consists of three sessions to be offered on August 25, 26 and 29. Flying Start is different from AnyPrep in many ways but here are a few:

    • Flying Start is offered in-person only, right here at Schulich.
    • Classes are taught by faculty who have won Schulich Teaching Excellence Awards, and who teach first year MMgt and MBA level courses.
    • The Flying Start curriculum is designed to give you hands-on practice with key concepts that directly relate to the classes you’ll be taking in Term 1 of the program.
    • Flying Start is your chance to interact with your colleages and connect with each other before the formal start of term and Launch Week.

Find details about the classes and instructors on the Flying Start website.
If you haven’t done so yet, please register and confirm your attendance!

What do I need to bring to Flying Start?

You will be e-mailed one week in advance of each session with full details about the course. You will also be added to a database on your MySchulich student portal where all of your course materials will be shared along with instructions from the instructor.

Please bring a laptop to all sessions.

Good luck on your AnyPrep exams this week and we look forward to seeing you at Flying Start on August 25!
