ALTERNATE 601 AVAILABLE TO ELIGIBLE STUDENTS
THE GLOBAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAM (GLP)
OPPORTUNITY FOR WINTER 2013 – JANUARY to MAY
APPLICATION DEADLINE: October 12, 2012
The Global Leadership Program is an alternate 601 project and involves creating a market entry strategy and execution plan for a foreign company considering the North American or World markets. Students work in a team composed of five Schulich students, plus five students from the partnering school. They work extensively using on-line communications; as well, they are required to travel to each other’s countries for more intensive work. The program covers transportation and accommodation costs. This year’s projects are with companies based in Israel and the partner school is the Recanati School of Management at Tel Aviv University.
MBA students eligible to register for “601” (MGMT 6100) are now invited to apply for this year’s projects. Students apply individually and are selected on the basis of academic excellence, work ethic, and group skills. The GLP admissions committee constructs groups from among the successful applicants.
The GLP is a more intensive project than the regular “601”. It runs from late November until the last week of May and students are required to commit for the duration of the project. There are no exceptions to this requirement. You should consider your other personal and work commitments before proceeding with your application. Even if your plans change later on, you will be expected to keep your obligations to the GLP.
Students who have already embarked on a Strategy Field Study are not allowed to switch out of their regular 601 groups in order to join a GLP group. They can participate in the GLP as an Individual Study 3-credit course (SGMT 6900).
Application forms are attached in soft copy. Submissions should include a copy of undergraduate and MBA transcripts, copy of your GMAT score, an up-to-date c.v., passport size photo and a cover letter explaining why you are interested, what do you expect to get out of your participation and what you will contribute to the group.
Applications should be submitted no later than Friday October 12, 2012; most students will be notified within the subsequent three weeks about the admissions committee’s decision.
