DEPARTMENT/FACULTY: Schulich School of Business

RESTRICTION: Schulich student


REPORTS TO: Dr Lorna Wright, Executive Director, CGE

SALARY: $16.25 per hour + 4% vacation pay

TIME REQUIREMENT: 35 hours per week (Days)

START DATE: May 9th, 2016

END DATE: Aug 30th, 2016 (possibility of extending on a part-time basis into fall semester)

PURPOSE: To work on finding companies to participate in Schulich’s Global Leadership Program and the production of international business materials.


  • Enrollment at Schulich;
  • Visa eligibility to work in Canada;
  • Videographer and video editing skills;
  • Excellent English-language listening skills
  • Excellent English-language writing skills. Business or creative writing experience is strongly preferred;
  • Great attention to detail and ability to be accurate
  • Computer skills: Word, PowerPoint; Web/social media skills an asset
  • Ability to work independently;


  • Research companies who could be interested in participating in Schulich’s Global Leadership Program and develop a database of such companies;
  • Work with the Executive Director and Managing Director to reach out to those companies;
  • Review research and journal articles written by the Centre’s academic associates and condense and translate it into business language;
  • Assist in researching and drafting articles, profiles and case studies for CGE’s website and for distribution to the business press and partner organizations;
  • Under the direction of the Executive and Managing Directors, create, post and archive content for the Centre’s website and social media sites.
  • Participate in meetings, events and interviews with representatives of SSB, partner organizations and outside individuals (often, but not exclusively SME business owners and/or executives);
  • Work in support of others to build a searchable database of (primarily) IMBA alumni;
  • Conduct research on the constituents of such database. This may be by on-line surveys, direct contact, e-mail or other means;
  • Update the database with the result of such research ;
  • Other relevant duties as assigned
