NOW OPEN: Fall 2016 Bursary Application

The Fall 2016 Bursary Application is now open.

Please carefully read the Fall 2016 Bursary Guidelines & Application Instructions document for important information about accessing and completing the form.

ELIGIBILITY

Schulich Master’s level students (except EMBA students), who:

  • Started their program before Fall 2016
  • Are registered as active in Fall 2016, either as a part-time or full-time student
  • Are domestic students who demonstrate financial need

Students who started their program in Fall 2016 are not eligible.

International students: Bursary funding is regulated by the provincial government which restricts the eligibility of potential recipients. For international students the bursary application will only be used for assessing eligibility for awards that have a need-based component. The application may also be used to identify students who are facing rare and unforeseen extenuating circumstances in order to provide them with a limited number of emergency bursaries.

TIMELINES

The continuing bursary application for Fall 2016 will close on Monday, October 3, 2016 at 11:59pm EST.

Students will be notified of whether or not they were selected to receive a bursary by the end of November.

While we are moving towards more timely support for students through installments that are pre-determined at the start of a student’s program, the process to assess and disburse funding this year has a longer timeline due to the increased complexity of the application form and the increased time it will take to review and provide an equitable assessment to each student. We anticipate a shorter turn around period for winter bursary assessments.

ACCESSING THE FORM

The bursary application form can be accessed during the period specified by going to:
https://ssbforms.apps01.yorku.ca/machform/view.php?id=16636

Students will be required to login using their Passport York account.

COMPLETING THE FORM

An Excel file has been provided to help students prepare their responses to the application form. While students are able to save their progress in the application itself, and resume their applications at another time, the totals for each category are not calculated. The Excel file allows students to see how resources and expenses will be calculated during the Assessment stage and provides a handy worksheet.

NOTE: Students who resume their application after saving their application form will need to edit any field on the page in order to be able to continue to the next page.
