Understanding Your Health & Dental Plan
As a full-time graduate student, you are automatically opted in to the York University Graduate Students’ Association (YUGSA) health & dental plan.
What’s That?
The YUGSA plan is mandatory for all full-time graduate students and optional for part time students. The health plan fee appears in your student account as ‘GSA Healthcare’ in September.
What Should I Know About the Health Plan?
- Your coverage period is September 1, 2018 to August 31, 2019.
- Your plan provider is Claim Secure.
- You should review all of your plan details (such as drug coverage, dental, vision and plan extensions) here.
But I already have health coverage.
Students with comparable coverage are allowed to opt out and family members are allowed to opt in to the plan through THIS LINK.
The deadline to opt out of the plan is September 30, 2018.
The deadline to opt in is November 30, 2018.
