Are you interested in Asia? In trade agreements? In Canada Japan relations?

As part of its “Japan Friendship Ties Programs” the Japanese government has just opened a study mission for graduate students to Japan that will focus on the economy and trade agreements – particularly the TPP (Trans Pacific Partnership) and the Canada Japan Economic Partnership Agreement. The mission will be about 10 days and take place around April 16-27. (Exact dates depend on flight availability.) All expenses (airfare, accommodation, meals) are paid by the Japanese government except for spending money and any gifts you might take with you.

Participating universities for this mission are York, U of T and WLU.  Each university can nominate up to 6 students.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: Wednesday March 16th at 5 p.m.

Requirements are:
1. Must be Canadian
2. Must have an interest in Asia and trade agreements
3. Must have a good GPA
4. Must not have received any previous funding from the Japanese government
5. Must be prepared to participate in a follow-up workshop in the fall.

Facility in Japanese language is NOT a requirement.
