On Thursday, January 26, Schulich School of Business will stage its 8th annual Sports, Media & Entertainment Career Fair, presented by York Sports Business Association. The Fair, which is the only event of its kind in Canada, will provide students with an opportunity to explore careers with leading organizations in the creative industries. Some of the companies that have participated in past editions include:
- Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Partnership (MLSE)
- Toronto International Film Festival
- Rogers Sports and Media
- NFL Canada
- Canadian Tire
Positions available are expected to cover a range of functional areas including:
- Sales & Business Development
- Analytics and Strategy
- Human Resources
- Event Management
- Digital Media & Social Media
Ahead of the Fair, on Thursday, January 19, at 5:30 p.m., YSBA will hold an online workshop that will prepare students to optimize their experience at the Fair. Students will learn what to expect from the event, how to approach companies, what questions to ask company officials, how to network, how to follow up and network post-Fair, and insights into what recruiters seek in future employees.
The Fair is ideal for students interested in a career in the business of sport, media and entertainment or are still exploring career options and are curious to learn more about careers in the creative industries.
