Attention MBA students and MMgt students, are you looking to:

- Complete an elective towards the Sustainability Specialization or Diploma in Business and the Environment or your MBA or MMgt degree?
Then this course may be for you!
SUST 6151 explores how social innovation can be used to build more sustainable and impactful solutions to pressing environmental and social challenges. Despite the incredible progress in the overall level of human development over the past century, a number of significant global challenges persist in both developed and developing countries, including generational poverty, discrimination, corruption, and climate change. This is primarily a project-based course with a focus on working directly with disadvantaged populations in Costa Rica to collectively identify innovative business models that are capable of providing meaningful work to such individuals.
Dates
- Two in-person sessions will take place in March 2025 (Dates TBD)
- Field experience takes place in Costa April 21-30, 2025
Cost
- All in-country Costa-Rica costs associated with the course (e.g., lodging, food, transportation) will be covered by the program.
- Students are responsible for all travel related costs and bookings (including insurance, visas, and air transport as well as any expenses related to additional time in Costa Rica).
Who may participate?
- This is course is open to MBA, MES and MMgt students. Approximately 20 – 25 students will be taking part.
- MBA student can apply to take this course as a Winter 2025 or Summer 2025 elective.
- MMgt student may enrol in Summer 2025.
