Calling all graduate students looking to learn about Sustainable Finance! 

Are you looking for a course that can help you learn more about Sustainable Finance, a rapidly evolving area within the financial services sector? This field is transforming the sector, moving from niche to the mainstream, by changing how risk and opportunity are evaluated by capital providers to include consideration of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors. Financial instruments and investment approaches are evolving to incorporate ESG factors and are attracting billions of dollars of investment.

BSUS6905 3.00 – Sustainable Finance: Concepts and Practice will take an international and Canadian perspective on the key drivers and actors, and financial approaches and instruments driving market developments in sustainable finance. This course will be taught by alumna Dana Krechowicz (IMBA 2007) who now manages sustainable finance for HSBC Bank Canada, the largest international bank in Canada and a subsidiary of HSBC, one of the world’s largest banks. HSBC won the Euromoney award for “World’s Best Bank for Sustainable Finance” in both 2019 and 2020.

Schedule:

This course will be offered on Monday nights from 19:00- 22:00 EST in Summer 2021 and will count for 3.00 credits.

Prerequisites:

All 5000-level core courses. It is open to all students enrolled in Master’s courses in the Schulich School of Business.
