ARTM 6340 3.00: Managing the Broadcast & Digital Worlds
Term F2
Tuesdays, 7:00pm – 10:00pm

This course identifies and examines central issues in the management of public and private television enterprises in Canada, and online programming undertakings. Students will analyze the current environment and the scenarios for the future of Canadian broadcasting; they will also investigate how broadcasters, programmers and producers are managing content and revenue on both traditional and digital platforms and in new partnerships.

The course also includes an “adopt-an-executive” component, where students will be matched with an industry executive.

The course will be taught by Trina McQueen O.C. who is the Bell Media Professor in Media Management. In her industry career, Mrs. McQueen’s roles included President and COO of CTV; Head of CBC News and founding President of the Discovery Channel.
